This web site is based around
Twiki which allows web-based authoring of web
pages. If you wish to use this facility yourself for other purposes, you should contact the IS Service Desk and ask for a "Wiki".
User Documentation
- Internet applications and guidelines on various aspects of using the Internet
including email usage, spam, web usage, security, etc.
- PC assistance. Help on using your PC in the UoP environment.
- PCs at Home. Some general advice on using PCs at home.
- Unix documentation. For those who prefer to use Unix facilities.
- Mobile Devices (phones in other words), concentrating on unsupported devices.
Operational Notes
This section is for teams to publicise various notes on the operation of IS systems and services.
- Change requests for USG,LAN, USG,Systems, UNG, and UAG. These list
requests for actions to be taken which may effect production services and are formally approved or disapproved by the weekly manager's meeting with
input from the Service Delivery Managers. This mechanism ensures that work is not scheduled during periods unsuitable for users.
- Combined "Change Logs" or more precisely a date order list of public outage issues and changes that have been made that may effect services.

IS Teams
IS Projects and Working Groups
- ISO is currently undergoing an evaluation of different possible email server products with the aim of replacing the existing Mercury product. The project has some
public documents available.
- Documentation Working Group?
- Linux Desktop Project is working on a standardised Linux desktop for rolling out to those areas that require it.
- Mac OSX Working Group
- IS SOG - IS Security Operations Group. A technical group ensuring policies are adhered to and highlighting security issues to higher levels as necessary.
